Summary
About the role:
We are looking to recruit 3 x additional Waste Awareness and Enforcement Advisors across the county to help increase our customer support, education and engagement and ultimately to help residents to waste less and recycle more. The is a front line role, out and about in the community, talking to residents about their waste and delivering a vital front-facing, highly visible part of our plans to help to reduce waste, increase recycling, cut our carbon footprint and keep the county clean
and green.
About you:
We are looking for a people person, who can engage with residents, and community groups to help raise awareness of recycling and waste prevention.
The candidate will need to be;
• passionate about environmental issues
• knowledgeable about recycling and waste prevention
• experienced in dealing with members of the public, face to face
• you will have excellent interpersonal skills and significant experience of
undertaking a public facing role with high levels of customer service, especially face to face, dealing with all local enquiries, complaints, community engagement and events for the service. This can include high levels of confidentiality dealing with personal information from customers in need of additional support and undertaking criminal enforcement investigations and some enquiries which may be politically sensitive and come with a high degree of customer expectation around a highly visible, popular, statutory service.
What you will do:
• Undertake marketing activities to encourage residents to reduce the amount of rubbish they produce
• Undertake home visits and waste audits to help people to recycle more
• Undertake community engagement activities to promote uptake of the service
• Undertake enforcement activities, where necessary to correct inappropriate behaviour
This position has a requirement for a Basic Check
