About the position:
We are looking for an accommodation and support worker to join our team and contribute to providing support to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability. As part of the role, you will work within the housing department. We play a vital role to help our residents achieve stability, independence and personal growth. You’ll provide day-to-day support within our accommodation services, building positive relationships and empowering our residents to overcome challenges and move towards long-term housing and wellbeing.

This role will involve:
- Offering person-cantered support to our residents to develop life skills and achieve their personal goals
- To support our residents to manage tenancy responsibilities and access relevant services
- Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively with partner agencies
- Contribute to a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all residents
- Assisting with day-to-day operations, including health and safety checks and incident reporting

Qualifications and experience:
- Working with clients with some kind of support need (essential)
- A relevant qualification in health and social care level 3 or similar (desirable)

Additional information:
- The role has a statutory, occupational requirement to ensure the safety and welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk that they may come across using our services. The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk as a priority and follow both YMCA Bournemouth safeguarding policy and BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership and Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership statutory guidance.
- Employment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work checks and a Disclosure and Barring Service check. If the role involves regulated activity with children or adults at risk, your employment will be subject to an Enhanced level DBS check prior to commencement date. All other applicable roles will be subject to a Basic level DBS check prior to commencement date.
