Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a teacher from January 2026 or as soon as possible after this to cover a maternity leave at Grace Owen Nursery School. This is a temporary post offering the successful candidate the opportunity to join our friendly, experienced and supportive staff team. We work in close partnership with families and build strong attachments with our children. We value their well-being and involvement in their learning and encourage their creativity across the curriculum, both inside and outdoors. We place a high emphasis on communication, language and thinking skills and we believe in feeding children’s curiosity. We work hard to build friendships, foster independence and self-confidence and promote life-long learning skills. For a suitably experienced candidate there could be a TLR/ leadership point attached. A part time candidate may be considered.

We are looking for a practitioner who is: •passionate about early years •a creative and inspirational teacher and colleague •a team player •a dedicated, hard-working and enthusiastic individual •an organised and efficient worker •a friendly and approachable person, with effective communication skills • able to respond swiftly and sensitively to a range of needs and behaviours •ideally experienced and qualified in safeguarding.
