Summary

P6 Planner

£50,000 - £60,000

Bracknell

We are Innovative
That’s why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to do things!

We have an excellent opportunity for a P6 Planner to join our team working on the AMP9 framework. This is a key role, supporting the planning team in the development and delivery of water main installation schemes. The projects you’ll work on will span the full lifecycle — from pre-construction through to handover — helping ensure each scheme is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

The Role

As a P6 Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development and management of detailed project programmes, supporting successful project delivery across multiple workstreams. You will work closely with the PMO, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure planning processes are robust and aligned with business and contractual requirements.

Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved in:

  • Supporting the PMO team in developing and updating accurate programmes and schedules in line with project and contractual requirements.
  • Producing tender programmes that deliver efficient and effective plans in accordance with design, specification, and scope.
  • Submitting programmes and associated reports within required deadlines.
  • Attending site when required to support the delivery and planning teams.
  • Producing and managing change event programmes in accordance with the contract, analysing both critical and non-critical paths, and reporting variations back to the delivery team.
  • Managing subcontract programmes and providing constructive feedback to improve programme delivery.
  • Producing dashboards and trackers to monitor project performance and support internal reporting.
  • Hosting and attending planning meetings to ensure all parties remain informed and aligned.
  • Preparing summary programmes, reports, and charts to communicate programme logic clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development of junior members of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensuring all programmes are resource and cost loaded in accordance with business and contractual requirements to support performance tracking and earned value management.

We would love to hear from you if...

You have a detailed and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving, strong organisational skills, and take pride in delivering work right first time and in line with project protocols.

You’ll have demonstrable experience of developing schemes from pre-construction through to handover, along with a sound working knowledge of NEC contracts. Extensive experience using Primavera P6 — including cost and resource loading to an advanced level — is essential, together with a good understanding of MS Project.

An understanding of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) regulations would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites are essential for this role.

Ideally, you will hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, and bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.

You’ll be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills, enabling you to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
