Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-15:30
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Location: Taunton, Somerset
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You'll be delivering pre-set work across core subjects including English, Maths, and Science, with opportunities to cover specialist subjects depending on your background and interests.
✅ Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences
- Ensure students remain on task with the work set
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Support students with their learning where appropriate
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery
Ideal Candidate:
- Confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic
- Experience working with young people (e.g. in education, youth work, coaching)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A genuine interest in supporting students' education
- Degree holders or those with subject specialisms are encouraged to apply
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering the last 2 years
