Your Role
The fostering service has within it three teams, the Kinship Care Team, the Mainstream Support and Supervision team and the Mainstream Recruitment and Assessment team. The team leader vacancy is within the Mainstream Recruitment and Assessment team. Along with taking a lead role in recruitment you will be the Professional Advisor to Stockport’s Fostering panel who sit every other week and more frequently when demand requires. You will act as duty manager for both the Mainstream Support and Supervision team and the Kinship Care team when those managers are unavailable and therefore it is important that you have extensiveness knowledge of a fostering service.
You will have the support of a full-time Advanced Practitioner.
About You
You will need to have experience of working within a busy fostering service ideally at management level. You will need the ability and confidence to work in a fast-paced environment, a proven track record of prioritising workloads, be passionate about providing the best possible care for our local children and be committed to the future growth of the service. Stockport deliver a version of the No Wrong Door Project and Mockingbird Family Model and are members of the Greater Manchester Community of Practice and ideally you will have knowledge of these models.

The fostering service has an established management structure and the three team managers work well together providing peer support. The Service Leads are accessible as are the wider social care teams and there is a well embedded restorative model and Stockport Families approach to service delivery.
