Summary
Document Controller
This is a 12 month contract with likelihood of extension.
Hybrid working with flexible approach to office (based in Cheshire)/home working.
Can be part-time or full-time hours.
Day rate flexible depending on experience.
Inside IR35 role.
Objective:
To manage and lead document control activities, experience in Quality Control process management to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a structured document management system for the project, ensuring that all documentation is accurately categorised, stored, and easily retrievable.
- Manage the flow of documents, including creating, reviewing, distributing, and archiving project documentation (e.g., contracts, drawings, specifications, reports).
- Ensure version control and track changes to documents, maintaining an up-to-date record of revisions.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely submission and approval of documents in compliance with project schedules.
- Prepare and maintain document status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Organises technical and administrative documents so teams can easily locate the latest approved version.
- Maintains and tracks project deliverables, such as drawings, design reports, technical specifications, and vendor data.
- Coordinates document submittals and transmittals to clients, contractors, and consultants.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in Project lifecycles, Document Control, Quality Assurance
- Some Quantity Surveying knowledge (e.g. budgeting, cost control, estimating, financial reporting) to be able to support the QS when required
- Industrial process plant/Oil and gas experience preferable
- Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
