Are you a tax professional ready to take on a high-impact role during a period of exciting transformation? We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Tax Manager to join our Group Tax team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the integration of the recently acquired Marlowe plc businesses into the Mitie Group.

While the primary focus will be on VAT, this role also offers exposure to corporation tax compliance and tax accounting. You'll report to the Group Head of Tax and collaborate closely with both the indirect and direct tax teams.



What You'll Be Doing
-Act as the main point of contact for integrating Marlowe VAT processes into Mitie

-Provide indirect tax support to Marlowe businesses alongside the existing Mitie VAT team

-Assist with UK corporate tax compliance and tax accounting for Marlowe entities

-Support the Group Head of Tax and contribute to wider Group Tax initiatives and projects



Key Responsibilities
-Gain a deep understanding of Marlowe's VAT processes and identify potential risks

-Ensure timely and accurate VAT return submissions and payments

-Resolve VAT-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders

-Prepare and review UK corporate tax returns and statutory tax workings

-Contribute to cross-functional tax projects and support ongoing compliance efforts



✅ What You'll Bring
-A recognised accounting or tax qualification, or equivalent experience (including HMRC background)

-Strong VAT technical knowledge gained in-house or in practice

-Solid proven experience in UK corporate tax compliance and tax accounting

-High proficiency in Excel and confidence working with complex data

-Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines

-Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels

-A collaborative mindset, high integrity, and a commitment to governance and accuracy

-Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
