Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly skilled and motivated HR professional to join our busy team who will share our values and strive to make the Council a great place to work, with a workforce that can meet the current and future needs of our community.


As Lead HR Business Partner, you will manage a team and work closely with senior leaders in supporting the delivery of the Workforce Strategy and achieving our strategic priorities.


We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled and motivated Lead HR Business Partner to join our team and work closely with senior leaders to provide a customer focused HR service.


Leading and working as part of an effective team you will work collaboratively with senior leaders and front-line managers across the organisation to support successful achievement of business objectives, coaching and enabling managers to effectively undertake their people management responsibilities.


You will also be responsible for:


Contributing to and supporting the delivery of the Workforce Strategy to improve service delivery through effective people management and organisational development initiatives.
Managing the provision of professional advice and support in relation to recruitment and selection, resolution of challenging and complex employee relations matters, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence and performance management.
Enabling and supporting cultural and transformational change projects and actively engage in workforce planning and development to anticipate and respond to future service requirements.
Leading on the provision of HR advice and support in respect of organisational and service redesign including alternative service delivery models.
Contributing to, and support the development and implementation of effective HR policies in consultation with key stakeholders.
Leading and contribute to key strategic projects in line with key priorities.
Working in partnership with trade unions and key stakeholders.

You will be CIPD qualified (level 7) or equivalent and able to demonstrate continuing professional development. A proven track record and experience of working in Human Resources dealing with complex employee relations matters together with demonstrable experience of partnering senior stakeholders in a busy, multi-disciplinary organisation is essential.


You will also require the following:


Experience of supporting and delivering strategic and organisational change projects and implementing policy
The ability to interpret and analyse data and propose actions to drive positive change
Experience of working with senior management and trade unions
A sound knowledge of employment legislation and its application
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form productive collaborative working relationships.
Substantial experience of Microsoft Office and/or HR Systems.
