Summary
Apprentices will assist in the daily care, cleaning, feeding, and enrichment of the animals, learning all aspects of kennel and cattery management. You will also develop confidence and skill in working with nervous or anxious dogs, helping them to feel safe and settled.
Duties;
Assist with the daily care and supervision of dogs, cats and other small animals
Feed, water, exercise and groom animals as required
Provide extra care and patient when working with nervous or anxious dogs, helping to build their confidence and trust
Ensure all areas are kept clean, safe and hygienic at all times
Monitor animal behaviour and wellbeing, report any concerns to senior staff
Provide comfort, enrichment and affection to animals during their stay
Support with customer service, greeting clients, assisting with check-in and collection of pets
Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning and any medication given
Work effectively as part of a team
Remain calm, confident and professional when handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Working Days: Sunday to Monday (flexible) 9am-5pm
Training
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English and maths is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Skills required
No specific skills required, as all training will be provided.

Level 2 - Can progress into level 3
Level 3- Permanent position for the right candidate
