Summary
This post holder essentially covers Acute Paediatric unit and Neonatal unit at a Middle grade level. The post holder is responsible for the following Managing children admitted to the Paediatric ward under supervision of a Consultant. Supervising and supporting Tier 1 doctors and Nurse practitioners in patient care in childrens ward and assessment unit . Managing babies on the Neonatal unit under supervision of consultant Supervision and supporting Tier 1 doctors and Nurse practitioners in patient care for babies on the neonatal unit and maternity unit. Attending high risk deliveries on the maternity unit Attending resuscitation calls in A&E Seeing patients referred to the Paediatric Assessment unit and Providing support and advice to A &E doctors, General Practitioners Attending and seeing patients in outpatient clinic independently under supervision of a consultant Participate in the on call rota with other middle grades The post would suit a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of Paediatric duties in this busy district general hospital. The ability to match a personal special interest with service requirements will be essential. As will the commitment to a high quality service in terms of clinical care, communication and team dynamics. Research-opportunities may be provided for research under the guidance of Consultants. The post holder will be encouraged to undertake skill-based courses as appropriate.
