Summary

We’re coming to Angus and need caring people to help us grow!

We’re looking to offer our services to people with disabilities in the Angus area — but first, we need the right people in post before we can deliver the service.

Title: Community Living Assistant
Hours: 12 hours per week initially. As we grow, more hours will become available in Angus or within our Dundee service.
Location: Carnoustie, Angus (with potential for growth in Monifieth and Arbroath)
Pay: £12.60 per hour

At Capability Scotland, our mission is to deliver the highest quality services tailored to the individual needs of disabled people. We work in partnership to create innovative solutions that enable our people to achieve their goals. We put our customers and learners at the heart of everything we do and make sure their voices are heard loud and clear.

We love what we do and are looking to recruit Community Living Assistants for our new community living services based in Angus.

The Role – Community Living Assistant

Once we have the right staffing levels in place, we’ll be supporting a young adult who has a physical disability and uses an electric wheelchair. You will assist her with daily living routines (including meal preparation and housework), care needs (including personal hygiene and medication), and supporting her attendance at appointments and social events.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are active, enjoy socialising, and like taking part in community-based activities.

What You Need

A caring, upbeat, can-do attitude
Personal or work experience supporting adults with disabilities in home or community settings (essential)
A flexible, reliable, person-centred approach, able to work evenings and weekends
A manual driving licence (essential for community-based trips)
What You Need to Know

This vacancy is female-only due to intimate care requirements (Schedule 9, Part 1 (1)(1)(a) of the Equality Act 2010). As our service grows, we’ll diversify our workforce in Angus and advertise accordingly.

Hours: 12 hours per week, weekends only (Friday–Sunday) between 7:45 am and 9:45 pm, working a mix of early and late shifts on a rotational basis. Additional hours will be available in Dundee and across Angus as our service grows.

Location: Carnoustie, (DD7) — supporting customers in their own homes and in the wider community.
