Summary
Job Description: Personal Assistant (Support Worker)

Purpose of the Role:
To provide person-centred support that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being in all aspects of daily life.
Main Duties:
1. Personal Care:
• Assist with showering, toileting, dressing, and grooming.
• Support with applying creams, styling hair, and using hearing aids.
2. Daily Living Support:
• Prepare and support with lunch.
• Assist with household tasks such as washing up and drying.
3. Social & Community Engagement:
• Support attendance at the Proud Day Service on Wednesdays.
• Encourage participation in hobbies and interests, including arts & crafts, puzzles, films, music, and community outings.
4. Communication:
• Learn and adapt to individual communication preferences.
• Use Makaton when needed.
5. Empowerment & Independence:
• Promote choice and independence in all activities.
• Respect privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
Essential Criteria:
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Business insurance for travel during work.
• Friendly, patient, and reliable.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
This may not be a full list of tasks required and on occasions I may request further support and tasks to be completed.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK with no criminal background. Post subject to DBS check.
