Summary

Are you passionate about supporting local businesses and helping new ideas grow?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Hull City Council’s Managed Workspace Centre Team as a Business Development Officer.
Based initially at the Louis Pearlman Centre, you’ll also have the chance to work across our other Managed Workspace Centres. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
You’ll be at the heart of our local business community — welcoming and supporting entrepreneurs, start-ups and small companies to find their ideal workspace, grow their networks, and thrive. From promoting our centres on social media and managing website content, to organising business events and meeting with our business residents, this role combines creativity, communication, and commercial awareness.
Working across the Property teams, you’ll play a key part in driving Hull’s business growth and regeneration by supporting the success of our local enterprises.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Self-motivated, organised and confident working independently or as part of a team

Skilled in using social media and digital tools to engage audiences

A strong communicator with a friendly, professional approach

Eager to learn, develop and take initiative

Able to build positive relationships with local businesses, partners, and senior colleagues

Experience in property, marketing, customer engagement or business support would be an advantage, but enthusiasm and a proactive attitude are just as important.
What We Offer

A competitive salary (career graded based on experience)

Generous annual leave entitlement

Access to an excellent occupational pension scheme

A wide range of employee benefits, including discounts on healthcare, public transport, and gym memberships

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference within a supportive, forward-thinking team committed to Hull’s economic future.
