Role Overview
Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Solicitor – Litigation to join the Legal Services team on a temporary basis. This role sits within the Operations > Legal Services > Litigation structure and will provide essential cover during a period of long-term sickness absence.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing litigation matters, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, and supporting the organisation’s objectives with high-quality legal advice and representation.
️ Key Responsibilities
Manage and progress a caseload of litigation matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders across the organisation
Draft, review, and prepare legal documents and correspondence
Represent the organisation in legal proceedings, hearings, and negotiations as required
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in all legal matters
Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and risk management strategies
✅ Candidate Requirements
Qualified Solicitor with proven experience in litigation
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and legal procedures
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure and to tight deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders at all levels
Commitment to professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical practice
⏰ Assignment Details
Start Date: 01 December 2025
End Date: 05 January 2026 (5 weeks)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract Type: Temporary (Inside IR35)
Pay Rates
PAYE: £45.00 per hour
Umbrella/Ltd: £57.97 per hour
