Summary
About the role
This position is for a social worker in the Connected Persons’ Team. The connected Persons’ team is a key part of Rochdale’s commitment to promoting kinship care, where we aim to enable children entering care to remain within their family network wherever possible.
As a social worker on the Connected Person’ Team you will be expected to undertake full assessments of Connected Persons, present cases to fostering panel for approval, supervise Connected Persons and undertake Regulation 24 and initial screening assessments as part of a duty rota.
This is a two year fixed term contract linked to specific funding
About you
The children, young people and families we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care and support, it is vital that we have a workforce that is culturally competent, representative and understands their unique experiences and perspectives. You be a qualified social worker with experience of undertaking assessments and supporting children and families. Experience of working with kinship carers would be advantageous.

This is an exciting time to be joining the service as we have established three Mockingbird Hubs, a Supported Lodgings Service and the fostering team are also working closely with the No Wrong Door hub. In addition we are training all our foster carers in the Secure Base model and Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training. Rochdale BC have adopted and implemented the Family Safeguarding Model and are supporting families to achieve good outcomes in a relational way. In line with this model, motivational interviewing training has been rolled out to all staff.
