Role Overview
Enfield Legal Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their Safeguarding Team on a locum basis, covering maternity leave. This short-term assignment offers the opportunity to work on a diverse and meaningful caseload while contributing to the wellbeing and sustainability of the borough.

Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and representation on adult social care matters, including:

Court of Protection and DOLs

S21A applications

Safeguarding and homelessness

Care Act and Mental Health Act

Education and Judicial Review

Leaving care rights and s17 Children Act

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners

Support the delivery of high-quality legal services across the borough

Candidate Profile
This role is open to Solicitors, Barristers, or Fellows of CILEX with relevant experience in adult social care law. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

Advanced ability to multitask and work under pressure

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent negotiation skills, both in person and by telephone

High level of computer literacy

Enfield Council offers a supportive, inclusive, and flexible working culture. This post is classified as a flexible worker, requiring 2 days office attendance per week, with up to 5 days during probation to support onboarding and development.
