ABOUT THE POST

The School of Art, Architecture and Design (AAD) is recruiting a 3D Making Technical Demonstrator to support students across a range of courses we have in the School to maintain a high level of professional and quality output to students' learning outcomes and projects.

You will have the ability to provide practical demonstrations for a range of skill levels, giving advice and support on all aspects of 3D Modelmaking and Prototyping. With expertise, knowledge and ability in a broad range of digital and analogue processes and techniques for making in a range of materials. Supporting students in process selection, production and material selection, machining, fabrication, joining, assembly and finishing.

Working with academic course teams and technical colleagues, you will integrate your specialist expertise in 3D Model Making and Prototyping into our academic programmes, student projects and course delivery. You will work with students in Architecture, Interiors, Product and Furniture and Fine Art, at Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels and more broadly across other subject areas in AAD.

Your technical skills will be matched with the ability to manage all aspects of Health and Safety, including Safety Inductions, Risk Assessments and the day to day supervision of students working safely in our workshops.

Knowledge and experience in the technical delivery of the breadth of Modelmaking and Prototyping in academic programmes of study, supporting students' understanding of digital as well as analogue processes will be in your skillset.

You will have a positive and proactive approach to your work and will be a committed team player.
