Role Overview
North Yorkshire Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the NY Highways team. This role supports the delivery of capital and maintenance projects across a varied commercial property portfolio. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and commercial integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Lead cost forecasting, budgeting, and value reconciliation

Administer contracts and subcontracts, including change control and final accounts

Support procurement and supply chain processes

Provide commercial advice and ensure compliance with legal and governance standards

Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes

Essential Requirements
HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline

CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)

Strong commercial understanding of civil engineering operations

Excellent knowledge of NEC and other standard construction contracts

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)

Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across North Yorkshire
