Summary
In this vital role, you’ll work directly with individuals who are rough sleeping, at risk of homelessness, or placed in temporary accommodation. You’ll provide tailored support to help them access housing, sustain tenancies, and engage with services that promote recovery and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialist support in either Street Outreach or Tenancy Sustainment, with flexibility to cover both areas.
Build strong relationships with clients, landlords, housing providers, and partner agencies.
Conduct outreach sessions, including early mornings and late evenings, to identify and support rough sleepers.
Develop and implement personalised support plans, helping clients access accommodation, health services, and life skills training.
Maintain accurate case notes and ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies.
Respond to referrals promptly and work collaboratively to prevent homelessness.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in housing advice, homelessness, tenancy management, or supported housing.
GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent in Maths and English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to multi-agency working.
Willingness to travel across a rural district and conduct outreach in all weather conditions.
Able to walk long distances over rough terrain as this role includes regular outdoor work, such as walking in rural areas and on uneven terrain, to engage with individuals who may be sleeping rough in remote locations.
Strong IT, communication, and negotiation skills.
The role requires daily travel across a wide rural district, within South Holland so the ability to travel as part of your daily duties independently and reliably is essential. Officers must respond to referrals on the same day, often involving early morning or late evening outreach. Outreach sessions include visiting remote or dispersed locations not accessible by public transport, especially at 5:00am or during Severe Weather Emergency Protocols.
