Summary

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and qualified Core Subjects Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people in the Tameside area who are currently not attending school.

This Core Subjects tutor role is perfect for an experienced educator confident in teaching Maths, English, and Science up to GCSE level. It offers the chance to move away from the traditional classroom and provide personalised, impactful lessons. Youll work with pupils who may have SEN and SEMH needs and require tailored support to re-engage with learning.

As a Core Subjects Tutor, you will:

Create, plan and deliver 1:1 lessons tailored to each pupils academic and emotional needs
Bridge gaps in learning and boost engagement, confidence, and attainment
Support pupils in developing routine, motivation, and self-belief
Use adaptive teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles
Many pupils have been out of education for some time, so building rapport and trust is essential. Prospero Teaching will support you throughout, monitoring progress and ensuring effective learning outcomes.

Rate of pay GBP25 per hour
Hours 1 to 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent (essential)
Minimum 6 months experience in a UK school or educational setting
Experience supporting SEN and SEMH pupils (essential)
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply
Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
