An exceptional specialist school in Tameside provides comprehensive education to children with a wide range of additional needs, such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), behavioural challenges (EBD), and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN).



Job description

This welcoming Specialist Primary School boasts fantastic facilities and provides a nurturing environment for pupils aged with a diverse range of SEND, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), behavioural challenges (EBD), and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with SEND experience, whether personal or professional. Additional knowledge of alternative communication techniques or manual handling would be a valuable asset.

You'll work closely with the class teacher to encourage students to participate in a variety of activities, fostering a sense of empowerment, support, and enthusiasm for learning.

To apply for this role, you must be available Monday to Friday every week.

To be considered for this Autism Support Worker role you will need:

· Experience supporting young people with Autism & Learning Disabilities

· Excellent communication skills

· Strong behaviour management skills

· A caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach

Additional requirements:

· References confirming suitability for role

· Enhanced DBS certificate or a willingness to apply for one (we can assist you with this!)

· Commitment to Safeguarding

· Eligibility to work in the UK
