Our Outpatients Department at Chichester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Outpatient Administrator. As the first point of contact in the department you're responsible for welcoming patients and ensuring they have the information they need. Providing effective and efficient administration the role supports the Outpatient Team in the day-to-day running of the department.

As our Outpatient Administrator you will:

  • Welcome patients and provide relevant information to support their visit including pricing for tests and scans.
  • Manage department phone and email correspondence
  • Handle patient and consultant queries, escalating when necessary.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient database.
  • Book patient appointments ensuring all paperwork is complete.
  • Prepare for daily clinics, including printing labels and patient lists.
  • Adapt to individual consultant requirements and clinic needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to maintain smooth departmental operations.
  • Liaise with Radiology team to facilitate a smooth patient journey.
  • Scan and update patient records accurately.
  • Ensure all required standards and time scales are met.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the wider hospital team.

To succeed as an Outpatient Administrator, you will need:

  • Confident and customer-focused communicator able to show empathy.
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude with a flexible approach
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • To work as part of a team and under your own initiative
  • Experience in administrative or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • Proficient IT and keyboard skills

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is a 30 bedded hospital within walking distance of the city centre with free onsite car parking. The hospital has two laminar flow operating theatres and two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department. There is a small radiology department and CT/ MRI services are provided in a mobile unit.
