Summary
The junior clinical fellow may rotate between the general orthopaedic team and the orthogeriatric service supporting the general orthopaedic and trauma inpatients under the direction of the orthopaedic consultants and manage the shared care of elderly trauma patients with the orthogeriatric service provided by the Department for Medicine for the Elderly. The elderly trauma patients as well as general trauma patients are centred on Ward 23 whilst other bespoke areas currently house the elective orthopaedic inpatients in order to follow national guidance on the management of care to safeguard cross infection.
