This is a role for someone who is looking to make a real difference and who understands that no two days are the same! As a designated CM you can be assigned to any role within the prison
- what will never change is your commitment, enthusiasm and support of our prisoners through positivity and engagement.
You will line manage your team with a collaborative approach and promote Serco and the policy in all activities and behaviours by promoting diversity, decency, safety and reducing re-offending agendas.

A challenging, demanding varied role reporting into the Senior Custodial Manager and some of your duties will include:

- Ensure that all staff supervise, manage and control prisoners decently, lawfully, safely and securely when carrying out activities
- Be responsible for incident management documentation
- Ensure actions arising from audits, inspections, local self-audits, etc. are delivered
- Plan staff rotas and work actively to plan and manage delivery of the regime

What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you will need to be qualified as a trained Prison Custody Officer and you will have attended and passed a previous CM Assessment Centre, either fully or partially. Those who have been partially accredited must be able to evidence a clear development plan outlining what key elements they need to improve based on the feedback and results from the CM Assessment Centre

In addition, you must be able to clearly demonstrate evidence of a commitment to learning, whether on the job (i.e. projects, secondments, volunteering to lead work outside your role) and/or formal learning
