Summary
Job Overview
LGV1 driver. Start times are usually between 05:00 & 07:00. Average shifts are around 10hrs. Average of 1 - 2 drops. Normally transporting bags of foam for the inside of sofas and cushions.
Responsibilities
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Possibly some handball
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential issues
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with appropriate classifications for commercial driving - CPC
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed lorries
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation
