Summary

The Role

As a Chef Assistant (Apprentice), you'll work closely with the Head chef and be an integral part of the food production team.

Your enthusiasm will shine through as you prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of high-quality dishes following prescribed recipes and training. Your attention to detail and passion for food excellence will make you a valuable asset. While you'll primarily work in your designated college/outlet, there may be opportunities to assist in other food production areas during training. Essential criteria include good communication skills, basic digital proficiency, recent kitchen experience, and a positive 'can do' attitude."

Specific Role Information

This role is a two-year fixed term role, and to be eligible for an Apprenticeship position, the post holder must be a UK citizen or have proof of the right to work in the UK. Non-UK nationals must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years.

The post holder will be required to work any 5 days out of 7, which may include some evenings and weekends. Typical working hours are between 7am and 9:30pm.

To fulfil the terms and conditions of the apprenticeship, the post-holder will be required to complete training on a weekly basis towards the Apprentice Framework in Commis Chef Standard or Chef de Partie Standard, depending on previous experience.

Working in the catering team requires an element of physical manual handling, which can include lifting and transporting catering equipment.
