About the Role

The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of a comprehensive wellbeing and activities programme within the care home. The role ensures residents have access to meaningful, person-centred activities that promote social engagement, physical and mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life. The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator, will act as the main point of contact for wellbeing provision within the home.

£12.30 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of a varied programme of activities and wellbeing initiatives tailored to the individual needs, preferences, and abilities of residents.
Coordinate and deliver group and one-to-one sessions, including creative arts, reminiscence therapy, music, games, gentle exercise, and community outings.
Encourage resident engagement and promote independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of wellbeing.
Work closely with residents, families, and care staff to understand individual life stories and develop personalised activity plans.
Organise and celebrate events, seasonal activities, and special occasions within the home.
Build positive relationships with external organisations, entertainers, and community groups to enhance the activities programme.
Monitor, record, and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, maintaining accurate documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
Promote health and wellbeing through movement and exercise sessions, where qualified, and support colleagues in delivering safe, enjoyable physical activity.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Creative, energetic, and person-centred approach to planning activities.
Desirable

NAPA Level 2 or 3, Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care, or willingness to work towards this
Experience working in a care home or similar setting, supporting older people and/or those living with dementia.
Level 2 Seated Dance & Exercise Leader (Activcare) or a recognised exercise-related qualification
Experience supervising or coordinating a team
Knowledge of dementia care best practices
First aid training
