Neway are looking for a HGV Driver to join our client based with Plymouth City Counci.
Location: Chelson Meadow, Plymouth City Council
Contract Type: Agency Worker (Inside IR35)
Duration: 29 October 2025 – 7 December 2025 (likely to be extended)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 06:00–15:30)
PAYE: £15.56/hour Umbrella/Ltd: £20.18/hour
️ About the Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a dependable and experienced HGV Driver (Grade E) to provide essential cover during a period of long-term sickness. Based at Chelson Meadow, you’ll play a key role in maintaining waste collection services across the city.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a range of vehicles including:
7.5 tonne caged vehicles
12 tonne waste vehicles
26 tonne waste vehicles
Collect waste from commercial businesses
Handle bulky waste collections from domestic and commercial customers
Deliver new bins and remove used ones
Ensure safe, compliant use of CPC and Tachograph systems
✅ What You’ll Need
Valid HGV licence
CPC and Tachograph card
Experience in waste collection or similar driving roles
Strong work ethic and punctuality
Flexibility and reliability in daily operations
