A warm and friendly female customer living with her dog in Crowborough is looking for a compassionate and reliable support worker to provide around 4 hours of assistance each week. She lives with Fibromyalgia, Arthralgia, and other health conditions that can cause pain, fatigue, and occasional confusion—particularly during flare-ups.

Despite these challenges, she values her independence and is eager to maintain it wherever possible. She would greatly appreciate gentle, flexible support to help her manage day-to-day life. This includes light domestic tasks, companionship and social activities, assistance with preparing nutritious meals, occasional medication reminders, and support with accessing the community for outings or appointments.

The customer can sometimes find it difficult to communicate clearly when unwell, and she occasionally sleeps through alarms. A patient, understanding approach will be key to helping her stay comfortable, connected, and independent in her daily life.

Duties include:
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Administration
- Housekeeping
- Shopping
- Companionship

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Must be comfortable with pets

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
