Summary

When you work for the University of Lancashire, you’ll be part of a thriving community of talent that’s united in a common commitment to transform lives. We do this by delivering an outstanding educational experience and creating prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Whatever your role, you’ll be playing a vital part in helping us achieve our vision.

About the role:

The University is commencing an exciting new phase of our Estate Strategy, and we are seeking to recruit a proactive and friendly front of house member to join our catering team, based at our Summergrove Residences at our Westlakes Campus.

Reporting to our Catering Manager you will be a member of a catering and wider facilities team who provide catering to both residential and non-residential students, as well as assisting with catering for activities and events. You will undertake a variety of tasks, maintaining the service areas and associated cleaning and providing excellent customer service.

This is a permanent role and is term-time only, which means that you will only be working for 36 weeks of the year (during term time). We will require flexibility across the week during term time (including weekends) but it means that you are not required to work during the vacation periods. Your pay will be spread across the year which means that you will be paid the same salary every month whether it is term time or vacation.

About you:

No previous experience is necessary as we will provide you with full training including basic food safety. We just require you to have GSCE (or equivalent) Maths and English and be able to follow basic instructions and be a friendly smiling face to all our students and staff.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.

If you have any questions or queries; including access to the online application portal, please contact Julie Ford

What we can offer you:

Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives. We also offer a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.
