Summary
An opportunity has arisen at St Paul's Catholic Primary School for a reliable and flexible Caretaker to join our team, who is keen to make a difference and assist with maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard.
Job overview
As a key part of our site team, you’ll have responsibility for general site maintenance, using a varied skillset to carry out tasks. These tasks might include but are not limited to painting and decorating, manual handling, ensuring the site is in a good condition for all to work and learn effectively and also day to day tasks such as cleaning, refilling consumables and visual inspections.
Job requirements
Good level of literacy and numeracy
Ability to use technology as we move to a computer based reporting and recording system
Good standard of maintenance and DIY experience with an understanding of health and safety parameters
Experience of working within an operational environment to provide day-to-day maintenance support
Ability to prioritise and plan own workload and use initiative
Ability to complete courses as required eg Working at heights, Health and Safety, COSHH
A degree of flexibility in the working pattern to allow time for lettings outside of school hours and also bigger maintenance tasks that will need to be completed in school holiday times (at least 2hrs per day are required to be worked from 7-9am to allow for opening the site and security checks)
