We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join the Medirest Family. This is a vital role within our catering team, helping ensure our kitchen and dining areas are safe, clean, and ready to deliver excellent service to patients, staff, and visitors.
?️ What You’ll Be DoingAs a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency in our kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Washing up crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils to a high standard.
Cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and floors to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
Assisting chefs and catering staff with basic food preparation when required.
Collecting and disposing of waste appropriately, following recycling procedures.
Supporting with deliveries — unloading, storing, and rotating stock safely.
Ensuring kitchen areas are fully prepared and organised for the next service.
Working as part of a team to provide an excellent service for patients and staff.
Our ideal Kitchen Porter will:
Have good awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.
Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work well under pressure.
Take pride in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Be a strong team player with good communication skills.
Show flexibility and a positive attitude to help wherever needed.
Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment is desirable, but not essential — full training will be provided.
✅ Additional InformationWorking hours: 35 hours per week.
This position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by the employer.
