Summary

Applicants are invited for the post of Animal Technician (Level 2A) within the Biomedical Research Facility (BRF) at University Hospital Southampton. This fixed-term position is offered until Friday 30 October 2026 to provide maternity cover.

The facility has a strong reputation for excellence, supporting scientists conducting vital medical research in areas such as cancer, osteoporosis, neurology, ophthalmology, asthma, and nutrition.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Carrying out daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures.
Performing routine animal welfare checks and maintaining accurate records.
Upholding high standards of animal health, welfare, and biosecurity in line with Home Office regulations and facility policies.
