Residential Children’s Support Worker – Specialist Health & Social Care Agency
Are you a compassionate, reliable, and adaptable support worker looking to make a real difference in young lives?
We’re looking for dedicated Residential Children’s Support Workers to join our specialist Health and Social Care Agency.
You’ll be working with children and young people of varying ages, supporting them in residential settings to develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve their potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people (typically aged 5–18).
Support with daily routines including education, activities, and personal development.
Help manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
Work collaboratively with residential teams, social workers, and other professionals.
Maintain accurate records and promote a safe, caring, and stable environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children and/or young people in residential or similar care settings.
A caring, patient, and adaptable nature — able to support both younger and older children.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts (days, nights, weekends).
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a children’s residential or care setting.
Valid DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
Relevant training or qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People, desirable but not essential).
Driver preferred, but not essential.
