Summary
As a Site Lead Radiographer, you will provide professional and operational leadership for radiography services at your allocated site, working closely with senior colleagues, clinical leads, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate imaging care.
Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH)
RMCH is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the UK, providing regional, national, and international care. In this role, you will:
• Lead the radiography workforce to deliver specialist paediatric imaging.
• Ensure safe practice and high standards of care for children and young people.
• Support innovation, research, and continuous service development in paediatric imaging.
Trafford General Hospital (TGH)
At TGH, you will play a pivotal role in delivering imaging across Trafford and Withington sites, with close links to Wythenshawe Hospital. In this role, you will:
• Manage day-to-day imaging operations, including inpatient flow and elective hub activity.
• Provide leadership and HR support for radiography and RDA teams.
• Contribute to service planning, theatre scheduling, and site-based service development.
Main Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day leadership and management of radiography teams at site level.
• Ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred imaging services.
• Drive service development, quality improvement, and audit.
• Support senior management colleagues across Imaging Division to ensure service continuity.
• Lead on workforce planning, recruitment, HR matters, and staff development.
• Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure timely, responsive imaging services.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and Trust policies, including IR(ME)R and safeguarding standards.
About You
We are looking for radiographers who:
• Hold current HCPC registration.
• Have significant post-registration experience, ideally with leadership or management responsibilities.
• Bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Can demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and support teams.
• Are committed to continuous service improvement and delivering high-quality patient care.
• (For RMCH) – experience in paediatric imaging is highly desirable.
• (For TGH) – experience in service management and supporting elective hub activity is desirable.
You should also be aware of competing pressures within hospital and Imaging services and be able to make decisions and prioritise according to clinical need and priority. In addition, the patients' needs will always be at the centre of any focus that you have.
