Summary


We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our fantastic Florence Nightingale Ward team.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive clerical and administrative support to Ward Managers, Medical and Nursing staff; including any other mutually agreed duties to maintain the smooth running of the ward.

• To greet and welcome all persons entering the ward, checking identification of staff requiring access to patient information.
• To answer the telephone correctly by adhering to the Trusts telephone protocol. To understand and give messages received to the appropriate person, i.e. Ward Manager or Nurse in charge.
• Maintain good communication and relationships with patients/carers, members of the MDT and nurses in consultation with Ward Manager.
• Liaise with other wards and departments as required to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Attend and participate in Ward/Directorate meetings
• To know all aspects of the ward environment
• Prepare notes for ward rounds, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Ensure that the trolley is organised and supplied with necessary forms, as well as patient case notes.
• Ensure the ward bed state is up to date and correct on a daily basis by entering admissions, on EPR and Teletracking
• Ensure that all medical case notes are tracked into the ward using the correct procedures on EPR
• Organise transport for patients if required
