SALARY: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hyde, Greater Manchester, North West England

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 36 Hours per Week: 06:00–13:30/13:30–21:00 Monday to Thursday, and 06:00–12:00/12:00–18:00 Friday (initial training on day shift 08:00–17:00)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical bias to join a busy manufacturing site maintaining electrical and mechanical plant and equipment.

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will carry out both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring compliance with current safety and electrical legislation.

You will diagnose and repair faults, support installations, and contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency across factory services and production equipment.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer include:

• Carry Out Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Maintain all factory plant, machinery, and electrical services across the site

• Fault Find and Diagnose: Identify and repair faults within electrical and mechanical systems including automation and control equipment

• Perform Electrical Installations: Complete electrical installation and modification work for new plant, equipment, and services

• Support New Installations: Assist in the setup and commissioning of new machinery and upgrades

• Monitor Condition of Equipment: Report defects promptly to ensure operational efficiency and safety

• Adhere To Safety Standards: Ensure all maintenance work complies with current regulations and company policies

• Assist In Training: Support the development of apprentices and less experienced team members


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• NVQ Level 3 or above in an electrical or multiskilled discipline

• Apprentice trained (or equivalent)

• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience

• Proven experience with PLC and HMI systems

• Experience in fault finding and repair within manufacturing or production environments

DESIRABLE

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

• IPAF certification

• Previous experience in a factory or production setting
