We are seeking a **Social Worker / Senior Practitioner** to join our Children’s Services team. You will play a key role in supporting children, young people, and their families through high-quality social work practice, placing a strong emphasis on restorative and strength-based approaches.

Key Responsibilities
* Hold and manage a caseload of children and young people, assessing and managing risks in line with legislation, policy, and best practice.
* Support families to develop their own safe plans through **Family Meetings** and **Family Group Conferences**.
* Provide **timely and high-quality assessments** and reports for court, child protection case conferences, and statutory reviews.
* Plan, coordinate, and review support for children and families in partnership with relevant agencies.
* Build and sustain positive working relationships with families and partner agencies to achieve safe and effective care plans.
* Maintain accurate case records within the Integrated Children’s System.
* Promote restorative, strength-based practice across all aspects of work.
* Contribute to new initiatives and policy development within the Directorate.
* **Coach and mentor** social work students and non-qualified staff as required.
* Deputise for the Team Manager when necessary.

* Promote and ensure the offer of Family Group Conferences and Family Meetings to all allocated families.
* Contribute to high standards of practice and positive outcomes for children and families.
* Participate in regular supervision and escalate significant issues appropriately.
* Contribute to meeting team and service performance targets.
* Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in line with Social Work England standards.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with registration with Social Work England.
* Proven experience in children’s social care, ideally in safeguarding or family support roles.
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.
* Excellent assessment, communication, and partnership-working skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities.
* Commitment to restorative, family-led approaches.

* **Responsible for:** Providing coaching, mentoring, and support to students and non-qualified staff as required.
Additional Information
* This role requires flexibility to work at other locations across the district when needed.
* Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and professional registration.
