About the RoleWe are seeking a friendly, reliable and thoughtful personal companion assistant to provide both practical help and social support to an independent individual who enjoys an active, cultured lifestyle. The role will suit someone who is naturally engaging, organised and enjoys conversation — equally happy accompanying trips out as lending a hand with household activities.

Music, particularly choir singing, is a key interest, as are gardening, local excursions, and visiting galleries, cinema and museums. The assistant will provide gentle structure and company for everyday activities, helping to make home life and outings both enjoyable and well managed.
Key Responsibilities Might Include

  • Accompanying the client to rehearsals, concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural or social events
  • Joining in with local outings such as shopping trips, cafés, walks and garden visits
  • Assisting with light domestic duties including:
    • General tidying and cleaning
    • Laundry
    • Grocery shopping and errands
    • Meal preparation and simple cooking
  • Helping to organise household tasks, appointments and social plans
  • Providing good company, conversation and a steady, supportive presence
Candidate Profile
  • Warm, patient and personable, with excellent communication skills
  • Literate and comfortable in social, cultural, and domestic settings
  • Proactive, organised and happy to help with day-to-day household management
  • Interested in music, gardening, or the arts — someone who shares a sense of curiosity and enjoyment of life
  • Neat and casually stylish — approachable and contemporary in outlook
  • Previous experience as a personal or companion assistant advantageous but not essential
  • A driving licence would be helpful but is not essential
Hours & Remuneration
  • Approximately 16 hours per week, with flexibility to suit both parties (occasional variation for events or outings)
  • Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
  • Long-term role preferred
