We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Team Leader to join a Children's Residential Home in Leyland. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for a candidate with a strong background in residential childcare who is ready to step into a leadership role.
The Role:
As Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Registered Manager with the daily operations of the home. You'll lead and supervise a team of support staff, ensuring the provision of high-quality, child-centred care for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shifts and manage staff deployment
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to team members
- Foster a nurturing, safe, and structured environment
- Contribute to care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
- Act as a role model for both staff and young people
- Ensure all practice complies with Ofsted standards and safeguarding protocols
- Support the development and wellbeing of both staff and residents
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence - Essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting - Essential
- Supervisory or team leading experience - Essential
- Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Essential
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child protection
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Resilient, motivated, and committed to making a positive impact
