Role: Legal Secretary
Location: Central Reading
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Full Time (part-time will be considered)
Start date: 15 December 2025 or 2 January 2026
AUDIO TYPING IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the team, undertaking typing and a range of other administrative tasks including scanning, copying and uploading documents to various portals. The ideal candidate must be motivated, have drive, ambition, and be pro-active with the ability to think on their feet.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Attending to clients and members of the public both on the telephone and in reception
• Dealing with existing and new client enquiries
• General administrative tasks, filing, photocopying, scanning, and organising files.
• Audio typing - typing letters and other legal documents
• Diary management for Fee Earners
• Using legal case management system
• Uploading documents on various portals
• Taking payments, handling cash, and issuing invoices
• Other miscellaneous office tasks
Essential competencies and skills:
• Fast and accurate Audio typing skills.
• IT literate – be experienced user of Microsoft office.
• Excellent client care skills
• Flexible, committed and have an ability to prioritise and organise work effectively
• Professional, punctual, confident and self-motivated
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use initiative and to work under pressure
• Positive and proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• An ability to work within a team and also autonomously with minimum supervision
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach
