Summary

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer to support the Principal EC&I Engineer in delivering design projects or lead smaller EC&I tasks with the support of other engineers. You will work across the full project lifecycle—from concept design through to manufacture and commissioning.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Deliver EC&I design packages and project deliverables across all lifecycle stages.
- Produce EC&I design documents and drawings in line with relevant standards and procedures.
- Coordinate, plan, and manage design activities to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
- Liaise confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities as required.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Control Engineering (or similar discipline).
- Strong ability to solve challenging technical problems independently.
- Excellent organisational skills for managing your own workload and supporting others.

- Familiarity with:

- AMTECH ProDesign or similar cable calculation software.
- AutoCAD design tools.
- BIM-enabled projects.

- Experience interfacing with other technical disciplines.
- Previous experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, energy, or similar sectors).
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to obtain SC clearance.

It’s great if you also have the following

- Experience in hazardous area design and functional safety.
- Knowledge of UK and international standards (IEC 61508/61511, BS 7671, ATEX).
