ROLE: Computer Science Lead

SALARY: £48557 - £57928 per annum plus London Premium of £4201

Plus up to 10 percent bonus

CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

We are currently looking to recruit academic professionals with the skills and ability to inspire our Computing students with your expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Software Development and Engineering
Usability Design
Cyber Security
Data Science

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Enthusiastic academic professionals to contribute to teaching, assessment, curriculum design in Computing disciplines at TU London. You will apply creativity, innovation and subject expertise to the delivery of an outstanding student learning experience.

Your responsibilities will include the leadership and delivery of innovative, engaging and effective teaching, providing pastoral support, supervision of projects and contribution to professional development and business engagement. You will engage in management activities such as people management, programme and module leadership, produce appropriate documentation and collaborate with colleagues to disseminate best practice.

You will have knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of effective teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level using a variety of approaches. You will be qualified to master’s level or hold extensive professional expertise / advanced practitioner status. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential. The ability and expertise to both lead and teach a range of Computing subjects is an essential requirement along with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including business.

Your skills and expertise will include the ability to lead and manage academic colleagues. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, IT skills are essential to produce effective materials and engage our students. You will have demonstrable ability to exercise initiative, creativity and judgement in applying appropriate approaches to teaching and learning, research and scholarly activities. You will have the capability to support student retention through caring for our students’ pastoral needs.

Please note that this role will be filled through a two-stage selection process:

Longlisting Stage:

Candidates who meet the initial criteria will be longlisted and invited to submit a short video presentation. Full details and guidance will be provided at that stage.

Shortlisting and Interview:

Following review of the video presentations, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview.

If you are shortlisted, your interview will take place will take place on 27 November 2025.
