Summary


Tavistock's Haringey CWP Team are recruiting 3 trainee CWPs to continue to improve children and young people’s mental health services in Haringey. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health CYP Psychological Trainings (PT) (formerly CYP IAPT) programmes.



Haringey CWP Team, work with children and families aged 4-17. We provide individual CBTand somegroup interventions/workshops, as well asparent training interventions to parents and young people with mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, or challenging behaviour. The team also has an active role in community engagement, offering trainings to universal services and service user involvement projects. The team includes one CWP lead/supervisor, 3 trainee CWPs, with strong links with a generic CAMHS team (Family Mental Health Team) including regular opportunities to take part in MDT discussions.

This is a training position post holder will undertake training at King's College London alongside working in service for the Haringey CWP Team. They will be taught to deliver evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. They will also be taught how to deliver interventions in the community, for example, participation activities, training and group delivery. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development, as well as be expected to actively engage local communities.



Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2026 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.



Shortlisted candidates will also need to submit an application form to KCL for a place on the Postgraduate Diploma in Child Wellbeing Practice (see attached application guidance). Applicants need to work towards their studies outside of protected study time. Candidates must ensure that they address each point of the person specification in the application.
