We’re now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our growing team.
The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our accountants with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with preparation of management accounts and financial statements
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties using accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
Reconcile bank statements, supplier and customer accounts
Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and promptly
Assist in preparing VAT returns, payroll, and other statutory filings
Support senior accountants with year-end accounts and tax computations
Maintain client files and ensure all documentation is up to date
Provide administrative support to the accounting team as required
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role (practice experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
Desirable:
Studying towards or part-qualified in AAT / ACCA / ACA
Experience working in an accountancy practice
