Summary
Groundsperson
Location: Boston, Lincolnshire
Hours: 22 hours per week (flexible)
Pay: £12.60 per hour (National Living Wage Employer)
Come and grow with us at The Askefield Project - a place where people, nature, and purpose come together.
At The Askefield Project, we believe that time spent outdoors can change lives. Our social farm offers nature-based learning and wellbeing experiences for people of all ages - helping them build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Our paddocks, gardens, and green spaces are at the heart of everything we do. They’re where friendships form, laughter happens, and learning comes to life.
We’re now looking for a kind, practical and hands-on Groundsperson to join us in keeping those spaces beautiful, safe, and full of life.
What the Role Involves:
Each day is different here. You might be mowing, planting, fixing a gate, or helping prepare our outdoor spaces for a busy day of visitors. You’ll work closely with our small, friendly team and volunteers - people who care deeply about what they do and about each other.
You’ll:
Look after our gardens, paddocks, and pathways so they’re tidy and welcoming
Carry out seasonal tasks - mowing, strimming, planting, composting, and caring for young trees
Help with small repairs and general site upkeep
Lend a hand setting up for learning sessions, workshops, and events
Keep an eye out for little jobs that need doing to keep everything running smoothly
About You:
You don’t need to be a horticultural expert - just someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a good job, and loves being outdoors in all weathers.
We’d love to meet someone who is:
Reliable, self-motivated, and happy to get stuck in
Has some practical gardening or DIY skills (formal qualifications not essential but if you have a chainsaw licence this is desirable!)
Friendly and easy to get along with - a real team player
Has a good eye for detail and a love for keeping things neat and cared-for
Why Join Us?
At Askefield, you’ll be part of something meaningful. We’re a small team with big hearts - we look out for each other, celebrate the small wins, and believe everyone has something special to bring.
We offer:
A flexible working pattern to suit your lifestyle
A supportive, relaxed team environment
The satisfaction of knowing your work makes a genuine difference to others
If you’re someone who enjoys making outdoor spaces come alive and wants to be part of a community that cares - we’d really love to hear from you.
