JSM Engineering Ltd is a specialist subcontractor supplying the construction sector across the UK. With over 40 years experience the company has a solid reputation in the design, fabrication and installation of bespoke architectural metalwork. It’s product range includes Staircases, Balustrades, Handrails, Balconies, Platforms, Walkways and Canopies.
Due to an increasing order book, a position has arisen for a Contracts Manager
Duties will include
• Project oversight: Manage multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Client and stakeholder management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, build professional relationships, and ensure their needs are met.
• Team coordination: Interface with design, planning, commercial, and site teams to ensure smooth information flow and to resolve issues, such as design clashes.
• Financial control: Monitor and control the financial aspects of the contracts to ensure profitability.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards and company procedures.
• Planning and scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules and resource plans.
• Attendance at meetings: in person at various sites across the UK/ online as required
The Ideal candidate
• Experience
o Proven experience in a similar role within the architectural or structural metalwork industry.
o Strong understanding of design detailing, commercial, fabrication, and installation processes.
o Steelwork fabrication background / experience with ability to read engineering drawings would be beneficial
o Experience with project scheduling and planning tools.
• Skills
o Organised and able to prioritise tasks
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to pay attention to detail.
o Proficiency in the use of IT, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Education
o Professional qualifications or certifications (e.g., CSCS black, SMSTS card etc)
o Full driving licence
