Job title: Apprentice HealthCare Assistant x 2 (Inpatient & Hospice @ Home) Annual Salary: £14,723 - £23,810 per annum (national minimum wage for your age) Location: Hospice and Wirral Community Hours: Working 37.5 hours per week over a 7 days a week rota Contract: Fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship with permanent role upon successful completion of course. Closing date: Sunday 9th November 2025 Interviews: Friday 21st November 2025 We are delighted to be launching our brand-new Healthcare Assistant Apprentice role and are looking for two caring, empathetic people who are committed to making a difference to people's lives. Wirral Hospice St Johns provides free care and support for adults with deteriorating, life limiting illnesses. We also support carers and loved ones; families are at the heart of everything we do. A typical day in the job includes: Assisting and working under supervision with other members of the hospice team Giving personal care to patients, including washing and dressing Supporting patients with their nutritional needs Communicating with patients and families sensitively and professionally Following and updating care plans Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge: Kind and compassionate personality Enjoy interacting with people Desire to provide care and make a difference Good at communicating and non-judgmental Great team player IT skills Mature and patience attitude with attention to detail The ability to drive and have access to a car or willingness to obtain license during the apprenticeship Salary, Hours & Benefits: National minimum wage for your age Working 37.5 hours per week over a 7 day a week rota 27 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a respected healthcare organisation. To be eligible, you must have the right to work in the UK, and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship.
