Location: West London (travel up to 1 hour across multiple sites)Hours: 30 hours per week (day/night shifts, relief cover)Pay: £13.85 per hourContract: Permanent, 24/7 / 365-day operation
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on a prestigious Transport for London (TfL) contract. We are seeking a dedicated Night Relief Security Officer to support sites.
The role involves ensuring compliance with all security, incident management, and health & safety procedures, while acting as the primary point of contact for the London Underground central operations team, Mitie management, and emergency services.
As a relief officer, you will cover multiple sites, providing a professional and adaptable service to protect property, assets, and people in line with Assignment Instructions (AIs).
Key Responsibilities
Operations
-Ensure compliance with all site policies, Assignment Instructions, and UK legal/regulatory requirements.
-Carry out security patrols as stipulated.
-Support investigations, produce reports, and escalate incidents when required.
-Provide effective incident management and liaise with emergency services where necessary.
-Follow procedures and instructions appropriately without unnecessary escalation.
Training & Development
-Complete all mandatory training and competency requirements.
-Undertake continuous professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
-Maintain and renew SIA licence (renewal required 16 weeks before expiry).
-Learn and operate various security systems effectively.
Security & Health & Safety
-Remain alert to threats or environmental changes that may cause risk.
-Report and respond to Health & Safety hazards promptly.
-Maintain professionalism in challenging situations and with difficult customers.
-Ensure accurate incident reporting in line with procedures.
-Adhere to schedules, check calls, and assignment instructions.
-Call emergency services and report incidents to the Communication Centre.
What We're Looking For
-Essential:
-Previous security experience
-Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision)
-Strong report writing and communication skills
-Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
-Willingness to travel within 1 hour from your home address
-Must pass a Medical (drug and alcohol test), WSI (Work Safety Induction), DTA (Depot Track Access).
Note: Failure to successfully pass the above course will result in your offer being retracted.
-Desirable:
-SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
-Good IT/system skills
-Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented attitude
-Sentinel card holder and DTA
